2017 was a year of many accomplishments and blessings I could not have predicted. I finished my second year of my MFA in Screenwriting at UCLA while completing the Professional Program in Acting. I had the privilege of working with some amazing instructors, including my master class with Jennifer Aniston. I made the finals again for the Sloan Screenwriting Fellowship and my script, “Designer Kids” won, where I had the opportunity to attend the Sloan Summit in October. I had the opportunity to assistant teach screenwriting at UCLA under the amazing, John Sweet, who will be greatly missed, and I graduated with my MFA in Screenwriting in June and also had the privilege of co-hosting the Screenwriter’s Showcase. The second season of "Stay At Home Mom" had an amazing festival run, receiving over twenty nominations and wins at Rome Web Awards, Vancouver Web Fest, Miami Web Fest, and LA Webfest to name a few. In June the most amazing thing happen and my amazing managers, Bernie Stern and Will McCance, got the series distribution on Comedy Dynamics where it now streams on Amazon! I was also the recipient of the Havas 18-LA Production Award, thanks to Denise Mann and many others of Havas, which allowed me to produce my next project where I wrote, starred in, and produced a new spin off series called, “Playdates Anonymous,” where I had the privilege of signing Angela Relucio of CBS’s Code Black onto the project, among many others that made up the most amazing cast ever! The series just received it’s first festival nomination for Rome Web Awards to wrap up the year. I co-wrote a feature film which went into development and started co-writing a second feature film. During all these I accomplished what I consider my biggest challenge, I got through the first year with my new baby (while raising my two other kids with the incredible help of my husband who I could do none of this without his support.) I breastfed for the full year (and pumped in my car when I was away.) I woke my baby up at 11pm when I got home from my days and cuddled him to sleep every night for a few hours before I woke up and did it all over again. 2017 has been filled with challenges and hurdles but the opportunities and blessings are far beyond anything I could ask for. Cheers to another new year of the journey!
